Quincy Pipella

Hip Hop Director

Edmonton born and raised, Quincy Pipella started dancing at age 4 with the Sandra Grey School Of Dancing. She trained in many styles including Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Modern/Contemporary and last but not least, Hip Hop.  Her love for Hip Hop started in 2008 when she received a “Be Discovered” scholarship to Los Angeles and Las Vegas to train in strictly Hip Hop styles. Since then, Quincy has won many Hip-Hop awards and scholarships and has performed with a plethora of different crews.

In 2009, Quincy joined the Hip Hop studio Third Street Beat (3SB). In her 4 years at 3SB she has learned all styles of foundational Hip-Hop. In the summer of 2012, Quincy toured on Carnival Cruise Lines performing with the 3SB Dance Studio. In 2013-14 Quincy also danced with YegrBombs Crew,  Eye Candy Dance Crew, and BBM, an all girl crew. Quincy also taught choreography for BBM and Flavour Studios. Now, The most recent and only crew Quincy participates in since 2014 is NXG Company, run through The Kore Dance Studio. In the summer of 2014, NXG crew travelled to the Hip-Hop competition, Hip-Hop Internationals, to represent Canada. NXG Company placed 9th in the world out of over 48 countries. In march 2015, she performed in Carnival in LA with NXG company. NXG has also opened for the hip hop artist, Ace Hood in 2014. Last summer (August 14th 2015) NXG Company placed 1st place at World Of Dance LA. While she was in Las Vegas and Los Angeles, she took many classes over the summer to train and grow even more so she could bring back what she has learned to her students.  Most recently, NXG placed First in World of Dance Edmonton in May 2016. Quincy Just recently got back from Seattle being a dancer in Mackelmore’s new music video, “Dance Off” While she was in this video, she took multiple classes from amazing choreographers in Seattle as well.  Last but not least, Quincy just participated in Build A Beast 2016, one of the most intense Hip-Hop Dance Conventions - Known worldwide this July and received a full Scholarship to come back the following summer.

Not only does Quincy dance, but she has also been a Hip-Hop instructor since fresh out of High School. It was through Victoria School of the Arts where Quincy found her love for teaching with the Composition Program they provided there. She teaches over 200 students, varying in all ages and levels at Sherwood Park School Of Dance, Emerge Dance Academy, Amanda’s Academy of Dance and The Kore Dance Studio. Just recently on April 26th 2015, her advanced class,  “DTP” from Sherwood Park School Of Dance received 1st  place in the “Dance Extreme” Dance Competition (Chrystal challenge dance offs/finals) And received highest mark overall the entire competition. Teaching and dance are Quincy’s biggest passions and she believes it is what she is meant to do for the rest of her life.
