Solo & Duet Choreographer
Valentina Jacqueline Rojas has been dancing for 16 years. She is trained in a variety of techinques, such as: Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Modern, Contemporary, Musical Theatre and Variety. Her dance training began at Casey’s Dance Centre at the age of the 3, for two years, then continued the rest of her dance career at Amanda’s Academy of Dance. While being at Amanda’s, Valentina has travelled and participated workshops from: Broadway Dance Centre, Alvin Ailey, and Steps on Broadway in New York. She has been to dance conventions taking classes from Ian Eastwood, Blake McGrath, Mark Kanemura, etc. She has taken technique classes from Harbour Dance Centre. She has danced in several performances such as: Hip Hop 4 Hope, Stars of Hope, Festival of Trees, Oil Kings Games, Open Ceremonies for Special Olympics, The Nutcracker as a Toy Solider and Disney’s Performing Arts in California. Valentina has been a competitive dancer since the age of 5 winning several awards and scholarships.
Valentina has received her IB certification from completing a two year composition program at Victoria school of the Arts. In the composition program she learned how to compose a solo and a duet in her first year; and a group piece in her second year. In her years at Victoria School of the Arts, she has taken many workshops from Shawn Bracke, Carlo Atienza, Alexander Chung, etc. She has learnt dance pioneers techniques such as: Martha Graham, Doris Humphrey, Isadora Duncan, Jose Limon, Loie Fuller, and Alvin Ailey in her contemporary classes. She learned different jazz styles from dance pioneers such as: Jack Cole, Bob Fosse, Matt Mattox, and Luigi. Valentina has done many performances with auditioned dance groups such as Dance Xtreme, Contemporary Dance Ensemble, and Leaps and Bound at Victoria School of the Arts.
Valentina’s love of dance continues to grow and develop through teaching and attending technique classes, specifically in Hip Hop.
