Alecia is a multi-media artist from Edmonton, Alberta. They started dancing at the age of 3 years old, and have continued with dance styles including ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, modern, lyrical, musical theatre, and many more. Alecia has been involved in many other art forms as well, including singing, acting, photography, and directorial videography. While in high school, Alecia was involved in the musical theatre programs, which allowed them to find their creativity in broadway and commercial styles of dance. They were also fortunate to travel to Vancouver, Miami, Seattle, Anaheim, Los Angeles, Hollywood, and many other cities across North America to pursue their love of the arts.
After graduation, Alecia has continued to work on their craft in the pre-professional dance program, Motives Dance Company. They have trained specifically in ballet, tap, contemporary, broadway, heels, and hip hop. During the year, Alecia has also been in concept videos, local dance shows, and personal art publications to continue through the likes of COVID-19. Alecia hopes to continue their training in Toronto, Canada at Sheridan College, where they will complete their BFA in Musical Theatre.
Though this year has been an adventurous one for them, Alecia is extremely excited to be starting their new adventure in dance education. They have had the opportunity to teach peers and younger students, and are awaiting their next big teaching moments. Alecia’s dream is to become a Broadway Choreographer, and they are so excited to be taking those first steps with Amanda’s Academy of Dance.
